The Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the Tarot

the great conjunction of jupiter and saturn in the tarot

The end of 2020 is in sight, but before we can turn our backs on this most crazy year ever, the upcoming Solstice is accompanied by a major astrological event - the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius.

This event last occurred in 1623, a time when migration to the Americas took off as wars were raging in Europe.

What will this Great Conjunction have in store for us?

The Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the Tarot offers visual guidance of the direction humanity is taking over the coming years.

In tarot terms, we are looking at the Wheel of Fortune (Jupiter) combining forces with The World (Saturn) guided by The Star (Aquarius). On a global scale, this is a game changer.

Progress and innovation during the 21st century will accelerate especially in the areas of science, medicine and technology, mainly due to climate catastrophes and more pandemics to come.

Necessity is the mother of invention, and the current pandemic was the wakeup call the world needed to speed up responses to the challenges awaiting us.

Aquarius - an air sign of logic, intellect and reason - will teach us that conspiracy theories are mere deflections from the real issues that need to be tackled.

The King of Swords is unlikely to be sucked into the twilight zone rabbit hole by a dodgy YouTube video or condescending meme on social media.

But that doesn't mean we don't question and call out what is wrong in the world. Critical thinking is definitely high up on the agenda, and not putting up with BS any longer.

What really counts are facts, such as social injustice, corruption in politics, polarisation of communities (in order to divide and conquer) and the ongoing destruction of our planet.

But thanks to The Star there are glimmers of hope. New movements, innovations, and radical mindshifts are all part of evolution and the rebirthing of humanity.

And it all starts with each one of us on a personal level, continuing to shed the old and outdated to grow and evolve.

We all have to realise that active participation in creating our future is our only option, if we want to survive and thrive. Dystopian or utopian...it's our choice.

All this awaits us in 2021, the year of The Hierophant, and beyond. It's exciting, but we need to stand firm and persevere when sometimes our journey can feel exhausting.

You will need all your energy to step up and move forward, and for that purpose I have created the Energy Tarot Spread, a tarot wellness exploration for nourishing and maintaining your inner power.

Also check out my printable Solstice Divination Game Kit on my Ko-fi page, a magical addition to your spiritual toolkit.

It's been a tough year. Let's focus on coming together rather than drifting further apart.

Warmest wishes,

Christiane

Being Creative During Challenging Times

being creative during challenging times

I love creating Divination DIYs, and the other day, I created the mantra cards, you can see on the pic above.

I've printed mine printed on kraft paper, and used glitter pens to make the borders a bit more magical.

In real life those cards look truly sparkly, and I'm using them for my meditation space.

I must admit that staying in the creative flow has been quite a challenge in recent months.

After the novelty of lockdown had worn off, I began to realise how much I get inspired by travelling, enjoying quality time with friends and attending fun social events.

They say you don't know what you are missing until it's gone, and I think that's happening to many people right now.

I also read the other day, that our brains have switched over to survival mode as a result of the pandemic and its global fallout, which can cause fatigue, lack of focus and a drop in creativity.

That's so totally me🤪 But at the same time, I'm always on the lookout for inspiration, which I mostly find in books, magazines and podcasts, and suddenly an idea pops up 💡😃

I have found that the best way to recharge my creative mojo is to snap out of routines and shake up daily tasks and habits, taking small steps and enjoy the process rather than focusing on the outcome.

Recently, I've discovered the Hurry Slowly podcast, which is about finding more calm, comfort, and clarity through the simple act of slowing down. And I loved the Frida Kahlo and Tracey Emin biographies  - two very interesting and inspiring women🤩

What are you doing to keep yourself grounded, sane and inspired in these crazy times?

Let me know in the comments. I'd love to hear from you 💚

Warmest wishes,

Christiane

The Mars Retrograde Tarot Spread

the mars retrograde tarot spread

If you want to know what Mars Retrograde (RX) is all about, just take a look at the reversed Tower in the Tarot.

A picture says a thousand words, and in the current climate it rings eerily true.

Mars RX occurs just once a year or even every two years, but when it does, we can all feel that planetary kick in the bum somehow.

Mars is linked to the Tower in the Tarot, but it also rules Aries, the Emperor, and this year, Mars stations retrograde in Aries on the 9th September until 13th November.

So, we can also envision the Emperor reversed, a ruthless, destructive and despotic male figure with an inflated ego, lack of empathy and not a care in the world how much damage is caused while pursuing his dubious goals.

It's funny, how Mars RX timing coincides with this year's US election. But we don't want to dive too deeply into those events. We all know how divisive, tense and even violent the situation is.

Let's take a look at what we can expect in our own little individual worlds.

Reversed aspects of the Tower include suppressed anger, power struggles, an impending destruction, revelation, epiphany or even revolution.

Mars RX is about acknowledging what is really going on and facing facts, even though it's more comfortable sticking your head in the sand.

But ignorance isn't bliss, and sooner or later it all comes to a head. Boom!

But there are also positive Martian energies bubbling amongst the mayhem:

a fighting spirit, more ambition, standing up for what you believe in, courage to tear down restrictions and start again from scratch, purging outdated beliefs, making space for a breakthrough, a re-structure of your life, acknowledging misplaced anger...

When you reverse the image of the Tower, the figures seem to rise rather than fall, which reminds me of the Osho quote Don't fall in love, rise in love.

A radical change of perspective.

Whatever upheaval or destruction you are facing, it may push you into a new way of thinking and acting, or you will realise that you don't have a choice if you want to survive this storm.

Retrogrades tend to focus on activities starting with the preposition re-:

• re-visit
• re-purpose
• re-evaluate
• re-vive

...and so on.

Re-tro. Blast from the past. Re-surrecting the past (and maybe not in a good way...)

The old world order is breaking down and shaken up, but new possibilities and opportunities are emerging from the wreckage. Mars RX intensifies the emotional upheaval.

Here's a tarot spread you can use to explore how to make the most of the Mars RX energies:

  1. Something I am angry about, and I need to acknowledge it:
  2. How to use my anger in a more creative and constructive way:
  3. What aspect of my life do I need to be more ambitious about? Where am I aiming too low?
  4. What is worth fighting for?
  5. What do I need to be radical about?
  6. A sudden realisation:
  7. A limiting belief I need to discard:
  8. What I am trying too hard to control:
  9. What needs rebuilding:
  10. My new world order:

Here is a layout suggestion, which is inspired by the Tower:

Have fun exploring this spread. If you found it useful, please do let me know and share this page with your tarot friends.

Christiane

The Lion's Gate Opening Tarot Spread

the lion's gate opening tarot spread

The opening of the Lion's Gate Portal is one of the most magical celestial events that occurs every year reaching its peak on the 8th of August during Leo season.

It coincides with the rise of the morning star Sirius, which will be visible in the Eastern sky above the horizon just before dawn between the 26th July and 12th August.

Sirius is situated below Orion's belt in the Canis Major (Greater Dog) constellation.

In ancient Egypt it marked the annual flooding of the Nile, which nourished the dry soil for growing crops.

There is a theory that the pyramids of Giza including the Sphinx (lion's body!) were built in such a way that they aligned with Sirius and two stars situated in Orion's belt forming a triangle.

This triangle - the Gate Portal - is now temporarily visible in our night sky before sunrise, and Earth's alignment with Sirius marks a time of empowerment, accelerated evolution, spiritual activation and ascention.

That all sounds pretty epic, but just like eclipses, solstices and equinoxes, we can observe and harness these powerful portal energies to raise our vibrations.

Now we are standing in front of the Lion's Gate Portal and are about to step through.

Stepping through and stepping up.

This is a joyous and exciting moment. Tune into this magical cosmic energy to spiritually cleanse and renew.

Focus on your Solar Plexus Chakra, which is associated with Leo - confidence, abundance, healthy boundaries, willpower, creativity and leadership, making decisions, setting directions, personal identity, authenticity, courage and resilience.

Remember, we are experiencing a global shift at the point of no return, but stepping through the Lion's Gate Portal into unknown territory also opens up to new potential and possibilities.

Activate your inner power with this tarot spread to guide you through the Portal:

1. What do I need to leave behind?

2. What do I need to take with me?

3. What will I find?

4. What energy will I activate?

5. What will become clear to me?

6. How will this change me?

7. How will this benefit me?

8. Enlightened message from Sirius:

What insights are you receiving from the cards? How are they challenging you? What do they trigger? What shift can you sense?

Enjoy exploring this spread, and please do share with me, which cards you have drawn. I'd love to hear from you💚

Warmest wishes,

Christiane

Tarot Moon Journal Transformation

tarot moon journal transformation

The Tarot Moon Journal first appeared in December 2012, and since then I have updated it every year with the latest astrological information.

In recent years, however, I was thinking about how I can make it different and transform it into a new experience.

The concept is a great idea - a tarot astrology workbook and planner in tune with the moon, but after eight years I felt it needed an overhaul.

I wanted to create a journal that can be started at any time of the year, not just in January.

After all, it's up to you, when you want to start creative tarot moon journaling and transform your life. It shouldn't depend on the calendar.

And while I tried my best to provide latest moon phase times and dates for northern and southern hemisphere, it wasn't right for everyone. Australian time zone isn't the same as Argentinian time zone.

So, I thought of a way to improve this by involving you in the creation process of your very personal Tarot Moon Journal.

I also wanted to give the journal a facelift. I felt the new moon and full moon reading pages looked a bit tired, and I've totally changed them.

And while the Tarot Moon Journal is still undergoing the process of transformation, there will be new images throughout plus more changes as I go along.

⭐The all new Tarot Moon Journal - ETERNAL Edition will be available from September 2020 onwards⭐

Eternal means that the moon journaling and calendar/planner pages can be reprinted every year.

There will be a new printable cover available on Ko-fi to refresh the look.

For me, publishing the Eternal Edition allows me to spend more time creating magical tarot goodies rather than getting flustered with providing the latest astrological data.

This means that the all new Tarot Moon Journal can be turned into a personalised and unique magical workbook and planner.

If you love planners and creative journaling, you will love the Tarot Moon Journal Eternal Edition.

Warmest wishes,

Christiane

One Powerful Way To Overcome Your Fears

one powerful way to overcome your fears

Our irrational fears have the power to stop us from living life to the full, but there are also proven techniques that help us overcome them.

We are all fearful of something, for example:

  • fear of flying
  • fear of public speaking
  • fear of meeting new people
  • fear of darkness
  • fear of heights
  • fear of change

What are the fears you are grappling with that hold you back?

There are thousands of websites with tips on how to overcome your fears, and Feel the Fear and do it Anyway is certainly good advice.

You need to embrace your fear and carry it across the threshold of resistance, a hard step to take, and many people prefer to avoid what they are afraid of.

But there is one powerful way to overcome your fears, which I want to share with you.

First, you need to know what fear does to your body.

Imagine feeling nervous about an upcoming job interview.

Your body reacts by producing adrenaline that is circulating through your body, increasing your heart rate and after a while making you feel sick.

Your nervousness, which is caused by fear, increases, and reaches its climax when you actually attend the interview.

By this time, some people are visibly nervous and have difficulties communicating clearly and confidently.

But a rush of adrenaline is also caused by another feeling:

EXCITEMENT

Transforming your fear into excitement makes use of the adrenaline your body is producing.

This way, you are not fighting your body’s reaction to your fear but transmute it into new, positive energy.

Instead of telling yourself that you are feeling scared or fearful, tell yourself that you are feeling excited.

Excited about

  • meeting new people
  • showcasing your skills and expertise
  • finding out, if this new job will be a good fit
  • this new opportunity on offer
  • learning from this experience

The more you tell yourself that you are excited about this job interview, the more your fear will weaken and turn into positive energy.

While fear is negative stress that drains you, excitement is positive stress that makes you feel alive.

Perhaps this technique is putting a smile on your face, it may even sound ridiculous to you, but try it next time you are nervous or afraid.

Turn your fear into excitement.

Warmest wishes,

Christiane

Why You Need To Discourage People From Buying A Reading From You

why you need to discourage people from buying a reading from you

I see it all over social media: tarot readers enticing people to buy their readings with discounts and other special offers. It's a bit like clicking the Buy Now button for an email reading as if buying a t-shirt.

But if you are a tarot professional, then you actually need to discourage people from buying a reading from you.

Let's pause for a moment and think. Buying a tarot email reading shouldn't be like buying a t-shirt. It's a spiritual service that offers reflection and guidance.

The last thing we want to do as tarot professionals is to lower a reading to the same level as making an Amazon purchase, which you can return for a full refund.

While requests for refunds are rare, they do occur, mainly because some clients don't like the message they receive, and others weren't bothered to  peruse your website to learn more about what kind of readings you provide and your terms of service.

You need to discourage people from buying a reading from you as part of your marketing strategy.

This includes making it clear on your website what kind of readings you provide and your terms of service, which may include a NO REFUND policy for readings already carried out.

The latter is your personal choice and depends on your willingness to put up with "tarot reading shoppers".

These are people, who buy a number of readings online from various readers on the same question, and if they don't like your reading, they'll ask you for a refund.

There is this idea that you should offer a "money back guarantee" to make it easier for prospective clients to buy, but when it comes to provide a tarot reading in good faith, you will have spent time to carry it out, and that time is worth money.

By discouraging people to buy a reading from you with a no refund policy, you give them another chance to think before they buy rather than clicking the Buy Now button on impulse assuming they can ask for a refund if not happy.

Also consider listing reasons why NOT to buy a reading from you.

For example:

Don't buy a reading from me, if you

  • want a prediction and then wait for it to materialise
  • don't want to be pro-active about creating your future
  • want a quick fix
  • want the reading to be a miracle cure
  • reject new perspectives and viewpoints
  • are fixed on a certain outcome
  • want me to tell you just what you want to hear

This way you may well get less requests, but you will get better clients who know what to expect. They will be a better fit and make this work more rewarding for you.

While "negative" marketing seems counter-productive at first, it can help you find more suitable clients who you can connect with more easily.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Wamrest wishes,

Christiane

Pluto Retrograde Guidance And Journal Prompts

Pluto symbol

Looks like we're currently experiencing Plutonian times.

Speak of the Devil (quite literally as you will see shortly), Pluto has stationed retrograde on the 25th April in Capricorn and will turn direct again on the 4th October 2020, also in Capricorn.

Capricorn is linked to the Devil in the Tarot, and Pluto is linked to Judgement and Death (Scorpio's ruling planet). These cards already give us an idea of what we can expect over the coming months.

For more info on Pluto in the Tarot, check out my blog post HERE.

Retrograde planets often initiate a certain level of re-calibration, and Pluto is going to intensify the global transformation it already started back in January, when it  was conjunct with Saturn (linked in the Tarot to the World and ruling planet of Capricorn = the Devil!).

Pluto Retrograde can increase fear of death and also resistance to change.

The whole world is scared of Covid19, and extreme laws and restrictions (Capricorn, Devil, World) are likely to cause more suffering and loss.

On a global level, we will have to face some very inconvenient truths about existing structures and workings of society and make some drastic changes on a large scale that are likely to affect us all and future generations.

On a personal level, what can we do to weather the storm?

Without any waffle, I'm just listing themes and qualities here that we will all need to focus on and cultivate as a collective - they are all self-explanatory:

  • kindness
  • generosity
  • mutual support
  • active listening
  • understanding
  • cooperation
  • speaking our truth
  • courage
  • engaging in debates
  • contribute towards finding solutions
  • be discerning, especially when evaluating information and motives of powerful and influential people (watch out for lies and propaganda fuelled by fear and greed)
  • moral and ethical integrity
  • sustainability

Here are some journaling prompts to explore the energies of Pluto retrograde in your life:

1. What change/ending/transformation am I resisting?

2. What is no longer working in my life?

3. What boundaries that I set in the past have turned into self-limitations?

4. How can I transcend these limitations?

5. What unnecessary baggage am I holding on to that needs shedding?

6. How can I stay strong during this time of great upheaval?

7. What/Who is controlling me?

8. How can I regain my independence?

9. What in my life is in the process of being birthed?

The impact of Pluto retrograde will be felt by us all for quite some time, but in times of adversity there is always potential for growth and spiritual advancement.

Striving to live our best lives by cultivating qualities as listed above will make it easier to rebuild, evolve and thrive once we have arrived on the other side.

Stay well, and speak again soon,

Christiane

NEW! Powerful Me Printable Oracle Cards

powerful me printable oracle cards

What do you do when the world is in lockdown, and you're only allowed one trip to the shop a week and an hour a day of outdoor exercise in a public place?

I started creating some oracle cards just for fun, and slowly they evolved into a colourful set of empowering prompts, which happen to reflect the challenging times we are all currently experiencing.

And hey presto, the Powerful Me Oracle deck was born.

It consists of 36 cards, and I have also created postcards of my favourite images.

I've created these images on Freemix.com, and due to copyright reasons, they're not available for sale.

However, I will be adding the postcards on my Ko-fi page soon for free. Please follow me there to get notified when they are available.

The Lockdown Tarot Spread

the lockdown tarot spread

It's only been a week of lockdown here in the UK, but it feels a bit like forever.

So many things I realise every day that I can't do, like going for my eye test and dental checkup. Not to mention regular activities like meeting friends and family.

Another two weeks of social distancing to go, perhaps even longer. If this situation isn't creating an epic global mindshift, I don't know what will.

While I was writing my newsletter the other day, I came up with the Lockdown Tarot Spread to explore how this time is shaping and changing and helping us grow.

I've decided to expand the original 3-card spread and turn it into a downloadable and shareable image.

I hope you enjoy spending more of your time reflecting, observing, experimenting and learning with the Tarot. I will post more resources over the coming weeks.

And if you like what I post, please do share links to my website with like-minded souls.

If you are new here, consider following me on Ko-fi to access tons of tarot and creative journaling resources.

Warmest wishes,

Christiane 🦄

Spice Up your Tarot Readings with Divination Add-Ons

spice up your tarot readings with divination add ons

If you feel your regular tarot practice has become a little stale or boring, here's a new way how you can spice up your tarot readings - simply add some divination add-ons like the ones you can see on the pic above.

While I've created just eight cards, you can add more prompts, such as

  • enjoy/avoid
  • learn/release
  • think/feel

From your selection of divination add-ons, choose specific card pairs like yes/no, or draw random cards to create a spread.

How to use the cards

Each keyword can bring up a number of different questions, and your intuition will guide you to which question to ask.

For example:

Rest - What do I need to let rest for a while? What do I need to put to rest? What can help me rest?

Grow - What do I need to grow? What is ready to grow in my life? What needs tending to? What is growing? What can help me grow?

More - What do I need to do more of? What am I receiving more of? What do I need to be more?

Stop/More - If you draw two cards at random, you can combine them as follows:

If I stop doing this ...., I will get more of that....

or

I will stop this ...and do more of that...

(... = tarot cards drawn)

Simply go with the flow. Different questions or messages may come up for you when you tune into your reading.

Making your cards

Be resourceful with your cardstock - I've used a colourful cardboard box of paper tissues, which would have otherwise been thrown away. Upcycling rather than buying new.

I also decided to try my hand-lettering and doodling skills - not that brilliant, but I like it!

⭐If you would like to download my version of the cards, hop over to my Ko-fi page

In the meantime, check out my video for more ideas:

Let me know, how my divination add-ons spice up your tarot readings. I'd love to hear from you 😃

Christiane

Global Tarot Year Card 2020: The Emperor

global tarot year card 2020 the emperor
Tarot of Quotes

The Emperor in the Tarot (key 4 in the Major Arcana) is our planet's year card for 2020 based on numerology (2+0+2+0 = 4).

This card symbolises power and control issues in both beneficial and challenging ways.

For many people, the world has become an unsettling place - fascist leaders taking control, inequality, rise in crime, radical climate change activism, environmental catastrophes around the world, the sheer volume of plastic waste, unsustainable consumption, war in the Middle East, fake news, political corruption and gaslighting...

It all started in2016 with the Brexit Referendum in the UK and continued into  2017, the Wheel of Fortune year, in which Trump took office in the White House.

Since then, our heads have been spinning caused by a dazzling speed of change beyond our control.

But 2020 is the year of the Emperor - a reminder we need to step back into our power and become leaders of light and hope in our families, communities, at work, in our relationships and also for ourselves.

This means we have to get fully engaged with the world, get active, speak up and debate, join and support groups to contribute towards making a difference.

Taking responsibility that we are all to blame for the state of the world, and now it's time to make amends by radically changing our ways.

The Emperor has a vision of where he wants to be in the future. He is passionate, ambitious, driven and doesn't shy away from confrontation.

He is in control by making plans and getting organised.

He is creating a solid foundation - a springboard - from which he can progress, move forward and grow.

At a global level during 2020, we will see more people questioning old structures and institutions (Meghan and Harry, Iran protests, healthcare funding, climate emergency...). This will continue into 2021, the year of the Hierophant.

There will be power struggles between governments and new grassroot movements demanding change.

The dark side of the Emperor will show up, and we have to face it head on: narcissism and control issues.

Look at neo-fascist populist leaders taking control all over the world by spreading misinformation and character assassinations on a global scale through social media.

The population is being controlled by lack of funding for education. The government doesn't want our children to become digitally intelligent. This would expose government's lies and damage their power.

We have to take education (including critical thinking and fact-checking) in our own hands.

The Emperor is linked to the zodiac sign Aries - what will be started, may not necessarily come to a conclusion.

Projects borne out of passion or anger may be aborted midway due to intense emotions diminishing, lack of interest, energy, a short attention span.

Without a good plan and preparation, even the best intentions and ideas despite enthusiasm may not lead to anything and just dissipate.

I'm watching the Labour leadership election and development of Extinction Rebellion (and other environmental protest movements) with the Emperor in mind.

The Emperor is this year's global year card, which means that while this masculine, yang energy has a strong influence on our personal lives, it also works combined with our personal year cards.

The global year card represents our external influences - opportunities and challenges, global events and developments we cannot control.

Our personal year card represents internal energy - strengths, weaknesses, attitudes, beliefs, values, choices, desires, our actions and responses to global year card energies.

How does your personal year card interact with the current global year card?

Take these three steps to start exploring:

1. What's your first impression when looking at both cards together?

2. What element/s are represented? (earth, air, fire, water...)

3. What astrological correspondences? (planets, zodiac)

Elements and astrological correspondences can give you an indication, whether your combination is friendly, supportive, neutral, conflicting or challenging.

You can then explore how to harness, resolve and align these energies to your advantage.

This work isn't done in a day. It's an ongoing project that lasts a whole year.

How is the Emperor energy reflected in your part of the world? Let me know in the comments 😃

Warmest wishes,

Christiane
